Charles W. Stockey Centre,
Bay St., Parry Sound, Ontario.
Jul 18 – Aug 10, 2003
Opening: Sat. Jul. 19, 3:30 pm

The Festival of the Sound is a world-renowned chamber music festival which runs for three and a half weeks each summer in Parry Sound on the shores of Georgian Bay. The Festival was founded by Anton Kuerti in 1979 and James Campbell is the current artistic director. The festival attracts a high calibre of performers, and many of the concerts are later broadcast on CBC Radio.

In a further fusion of art and music in a new venue, the festival commissioned composer Abigail Richardson to write a piece of music inspired by a painting by CSPWC Member, Wendy Hoffmann. “Emerge,” a woodwind quintet, was performed at the Festival on Sat. Jul. 19 at 2:00 pm prior to the opening of the exhibition.
